Happy Planet wanted to spark a movement called #TheHappyEffect.

Happiness is contagious and is spread through sharing a connection... with yourself by nourishing your body, within your family, between friends, in your community. All it takes is one simple act to make someone smile.

This campaign hoped to inspire those little acts of happy – whether that was sharing a happy moment, going out of your way to be kind to someone, connecting with a friend…or doing good in the world. For every act shared (through a written post, photo or video), Happy Planet donated a meal/serving of juices, smoothies, soups to someone in need [via food banks] – over 100,000 servings!

Simple, 2D characters inspired by Happy Planet ingredients, each with their own unique characteristics, were the heroes of this movement.
